Like we said Anne of Green Gables is a book about an orphan Anne that is sent to live with her brother (Matthew) and a sister (Marilla) on a farm in a fictional town named Avonlea. Even though, the owners wanted a boy to help on their farm, the orphanage sent Anne instead anyways.
The most awesome thing is that Anne eventually wins the hearts of Matthew, Marilla and everyone in town. Anne gets into all sorts of bad things throughout the book. Such as dying her hair green and getting her friend drunk (accidentally though).
She also whacked Gilbert over the head, because he named her a carrot, because of her long red hair. However though, they compete over the grades and eventually they become friends at the end. So, really, one genuine, well worked story that is soothing for all of the bookworms out there.
