King Alfred of England

Description of the Book
The story of England’s greatest king is a story of war, peace, courage, learning and strength of character – and, ultimately, the triumph of light over darkness.
Narrated by the narrator Jacob Abbott, the story begins with a discussion of race – and a glimpse, however brief, of European race history – before moving on to a discussion of the origins of the British, who Anglo-Saxons and the Danes. , who all played an important role in British history over a thousand years ago.
As always, Abbott is careful to distinguish fact from fiction and strives to show what is true and what is not, bearing in mind that Alfred ruled just 800 years after Julius Caesar.
