Margaret of Anjou

Description of the Book
In 1445, a fifteen-year-old French girl left her homeland to marry the son of King Henry V. Sixteen years later, her husband lost his throne and fled to war. For ten years he struggled to regain the throne of England before his final and devastating defeat at the Battle of Tewkesbury.
It marked the final destruction of the House of Lancaster by the Yorkist King Edward IV and his brothers. Margaret lost more than her family: she was also abused. Shakespeare introduced him as the brutal assassin who killed Richard, Duke of York. The story portrays him as a violent traitor whose desire for destruction was the main cause of the Wars of the Roses.
