Ralph has been dreaming about an amazing adventure but he doesn’t know that when he goes to the sea, he will see many!
On a trip to the South Seas, a storm destroys his ship and Ralph, serious Jack funny young Peterkin managed to swim to the island – abandoned without hope of escape. They realized that this could be the adventure of a lifetime – the adventure they had always dreamed of. In their beautiful new home, they find everything they could want – a variety of delicious food; beautiful underwater caves; abundant wildlife to be hunted and admired, as well as coral reefs to explore.
Life seems full and bountiful to the young travelers, as they swim, dive, and climb their beautiful new home, without a single care. They see even one deaf and a blind man!

About the Author
Robert Michael Ballantyne (24 April 1825 – 8 February 1894) was a Scottish author of children’s fiction, who wrote over one hundred books. He was also an accomplished artist: he exhibited some of his watercolors at the Royal Scottish Academy.
Ballantyne was born in Edinburgh on 24 April 1825, the ninth of ten children, and youngest son, to Alexander Thomson Ballantyne (1776–1847) and his wife Anne (1786–1855).
