His hands, severe strength areas for as they were shapely and by deftness delivered as sensitive of touch as a lady’s, had reestablished the dressing of the Spaniard’s thigh, where the cracked bone had penetrated the tissue.
He made now the last change of the strappings that held the support set up, stood up, and by a gesture excused the negro steward who had been his attendant.
‘It is well overall, Don Ilario.’ He talked unobtrusively in a familiar and, surprisingly, effortless Spanish. ‘I can now give you my statement that you will stroll on your two legs in the future.’
About the Author
Rafael Sabatini (29 April 1875 – 13 February 1950) was an Italian-English essayist of sentiment and experience novels.
He is most popular for his overall blockbusters: The Sea Hawk (1915), Scaramouche (1921), Captain Blood (a.k.a. Commander Blood: His Odyssey) (1922), and Bellarion the Fortunate (1926).
Taking everything together, Sabatini delivered 34 books, eight brief tale assortments, six true-to-life books, various uncollected brief tales, and a few plays.
