The Tailor of Gloucester is a children’s book written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter, published privately by the author in 1902, and published by Frederick Warne & Co. in October 1903.
The story is about a tailor whose job is to make clothes. Made with grateful mice rescued from his cat and based on a true incident involving a tailor and his assistants. For years, Potter said that of all his books, this was his favorite.

About the Author
Helen Beatrix Potter (/ˈbiːətrɪks/, 28 July 1866 – 22 December 1943) was a writer, artist, naturalist, and conservationist.
She is best known for her children’s books featuring animals, such as The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which was her first published work in 1902. Her books, including 23 stories, have sold more than 250 million copies.
