The Tale of Jemima Puddle Duck Pdf Book Summary
The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck is a children’s book written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter. It was first published by Frederick Warne & Co. in July 1908. Potter composed the book Hill Top, a working farm in the Lake District, which he bought in 1905.
After the purchase, his work began to focus on rural and village life, which included a large cast of animal characters and evil villains. Jemima Puddle-Duck is the first of her local books with illustrations on the background of buildings on farms and courtyards and nearby areas. The story begins in a courtyard inhabited by an end named Jemima Puddle-duck.
He wanted to lay his own eggs, but the farmer believed that ducks were bad caregivers and always scraped them to incubate hens. Jemima tries to hide her eggs, but they always find them and take them away. She walked down the street with her hat and scarf to find a safe place away from the field where she could lay eggs.
At the top of the hill, he looks at a distant tree, flies to it, and wanders around until he finds a suitable place to live among the foxes. However, a handsome man with “black pointed ears and a sandy beard” persuaded him to nest in a nest in his house. Jemima is taken to her “dilapidated shed” (which is strangely full of feathers) and makes a nest with a little fun.
Jemima lays eggs and Fox suggests dinner at the event. She asks him to collect the traditional herbs used to fill the end, and tells him that the herbs will be used for the omelette.
Jemima goes to work, but the farm collie Kep meets her when she brings an onion from the farm kitchen and asks her what she’s doing and where she’s going. He reveals his task, Kep immediately sees the fox’s plan and learns from Jemima where the fox lives.
With the help of two fox-hound puppies running around the farm, Kep rescues Jemim and the “fox bearded gentleman” (Mr. Tod) is tracked down and seen again in The Tale of Mr. Tod. Hungry fox dogs, however, eat Jemima’s eggs. Jemima was escorted back to the farm, crying over the lost eggs, but eventually laid more eggs and successfully hatched four ducks.
