The Tale of Tom Kitten Pdf Book Summary
The Tale of Tom Kitten is a children’s book written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter. Published by Frederick Warne & Co. in September 1907. The story is about behavior and how children react to it. Tabitha Twitchit’s cat invites friends for tea.
They washed and dressed their three kittens to celebrate, but in a few moments the kittens got dirty and lost their clothes while walking in the garden. Tabitha was “opposed.” She laid the kittens on the bed and told her friends that the kittens had shells. However, when the tea party began, her “value and calmness” was disturbed by the kittens, who were screaming upstairs and leaving the room uncomfortably.
Potter’s career as a child writer and illustrator began in 1902 with The Tale of Peter Rabbit. He continued publishing and in 1905 bought Hill Top, a farm in Lancashire (now Cumbria), with proceeds from the sale of his books and a small inheritance from his aunt.
His stories draw inspiration from the farm, the surrounding forests and the surrounding villages. Tom Kitten’s work began in 1906 and his status was placed on Hill Top. Illustrations show the interior of the house and garden, corridors and gates for the house.
Twenty thousand copies of the book were published in September 1907 and another 12,500 in December of the following year. Potter made a few small letters to the child’s friends that appeared to come from the characters in the story, and in 1917 he published a painting book called Tom Kitten.
In 1935, two books with piano compositions and piano duets for children were published, one composition inspired by Tom Kitten and one by Puddle-Ducks. Tom and other characters in the book have been the subject of several sales over the years, including porcelain figurines and toys. The story is still printed, translated and published in many languages.
