The Valley of Fear PDF Summary by BajrontBooks

Valley of Fear is the 7th novel in the Sherlock Holmes series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It was first published as a book in February 1915, although it also appeared in Strand magazine between September 1914 and May 1915.

Valley of Fear is the story of a mysterious murder in Birlstone, a beautiful England landscape. John Douglas was murdered at Birlstone Manor House, and the mystery surrounding his murder is more spiritual and serious than any previous Sherlock Holmes story.

The story also introduces the character of Professor James Moriarty, the elite chief criminal, for the first time in the series. However, like the first two novels, The Scarlet Study and The Sign of the Four, the crimes in this story have roots in the past.

The story takes us back to Vermissa Valley, a mining town in the United States. The road takes us to the Scowrers, a secret society of criminals who disrupt daily life in the valley.

Interestingly, the story has two turning points, almost like two different peaks that separate me. The first – the point where the flashy detective solves the mystery, and the second – the point where the story ends with a flashback.

No matter how wisely you think, there is no way to predict what Sir Arthur has prepared. Most importantly, the end of the story forced me to read a collection of Sherlock Holmes short stories for one reason only – to learn more about James Moriarty, and those who watched the BBC Sherlock Holmes series, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin, died. Freeman, find out why.

Like the previous three novels in the series, Valley of Fear also has strong characters, some with even more layers. For example, the characters of Sherlock and Dr. The Watsons became more mature and cunning in their approach.

The detective has certainly reached an age and experience, and this shows how surprised he is that he lost his suspension because of the crime.

However, the more interesting characters in the novel are in the past, when we meet Jack McMurd, Jack McGinty, Teddy Baldwin, the beautiful Ettie Shafter and of course Birdy Edwards.

The characters from the Vermissa Valley, especially the Scowers, are wild dogs, strongly attached to the rules of the pack, with strange habits and in some names an immense number of heinous crimes.

The most interesting of these was Teddy Baldwin, a man who, after years, brought fears from the Vermissa Valley to Birlstone Manor. McMurdo, on the other hand, is a young hot head, brave enough to test his balls against the alpha males of the valley.

Sir Arthur generally designed each character to fit the story perfectly, and the result is that we have another masterpiece in hand that we can swallow.
